However, it would be interesting to see how fans of such shows as CSI would respond to one of his novels, like The Eye of Osiris. The science is sound and the love story should satisfy the character obsessed readers of today.TomCathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03415176301265218101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5516189026477178777.post-3254907342210294502011-08-04T14:59:52.715+02:002011-08-04T14:59:52.715+02:00Very enjoyable review. I agree with you about Symons' opinions. Freeman was an important author in the development of the modern traditional detective story - not to mention the inverted detective story - and his books deserve a wider readership than they're likely to get today.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5516189026477178777.post-32927337901844586562011-08-04T09:42:54.020+02:002011-08-04T09:42:54.020+02:00Well, I was already familiar with most of them (I ...Well, I was already familiar with most of them (I think The Eye of Osiris is one of the best pre-GAD novels), but not intimately and shamefully neglected them in favor of the Americans. Curt Evans' recent announcements on his book were definitely the catalyst for these reviews.

Though I have one minor issue- I didn't unsheathe a sword. I recall picked up a literary blunderbuss. I may have wielded a cutlass, though I can't be sure anymore. ;)Patrickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01844617192737950378noreply@blogger.com
