Conan, Rex Stout and John Rhode-like impossible crimes in one slender volume! You might find it interesting.

I'm going to rewrite my review of that book one of these days and post it on this blog. These impossible situations, especially the one on the beach, sound like they could be in the casebook of Conan Edogawa. I was wondering whether to get "Merrivale, March, and Murder," which has the Colonel March stories, but hesitated due to an Amazon review. In hindsight, that review overlooks a lot of the fun that seem to be overflowing in these stories, based on your descriptions. That person talks more about the flaws of the book, and doesn't even mention the fantastic premises of these impossible crimes.

I wanted to order the book in a heartbeat after reading your post, a review that not only is more informative, but also gives off a more positive vibe. Carr's enthusiasm could undeniably be felt through your words. I thank you for your sharing your thoughts with all of us, as it gave me some of that enthusiasm despite not having yet read the stories.Pikkonhttp://layonthecrime.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5516189026477178777.post-16067105154923070582012-05-31T15:53:49.150+02:002012-05-31T15:53:49.150+02:00All but two of these stories (Footprints in the Sk...All but two of these stories (Footprints in the Sky and The Crime in Nobody's Room) were also adapted for the TV series Colonel March of Scotland Yard, starring Boris Karloffmonescuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04111922576836593406noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5516189026477178777.post-45277015770195932042012-05-31T13:08:36.368+02:002012-05-31T13:08:36.368+02:00The other two March stories, if you're curious...The other two March stories, if you're curious, are in the collection THE MEN WHO EXPLAINED MIRACLES (hence, I assume, the title of this entry...). You could consider "The Third Bullet" as an unofficial Colonel Marsh story as it featured a precursor of him (Colonel Marquis). I would have also welcomed a short story collection in which Colonel Marsh, Sir Henry Merrivale, Dr. Gideon Fell and M.
