My only wish is for her to reappear one day. The series could do with a Haibara Ai-esq. character. Gosho's little creation is kind of far ahead this part of the potential "story" of Kindaichi so hopefully in comparison it won't feel too behind-the-times (by now there are characters with artificial eyes walking around the neighbourhood and incidents in other continents throughout 2 decades going on in the story), which would be a shame because the characters are, at the end of the day, what make the story impactful. Otherwise, the floor is perfectly still.

The hole is feature of the circular room, allowing it to rotate, which is why the killer impaled the victim with a stake. This served two purposes: 1) to rotate the room in order to create an impossible murder 2) during the flashback, it was shown the stake was driven with considerable force into the victim. So it would seem that the hole in the floor, which already there, was created during the murder by the stake.

It's a really clever locked room trick. They did the same with the live-action adaptation of Yukikage Village Murder Case by the way, adding Miyuki and Saki (or was it Makabe?) in the story, even though the original story worked *because* it was all about Hajime having to cope with a case involving all of his old friends all by his own.

Which reminds me, the live-action adaptation of the Rosenkreuz case (which was indeed the best of the 20th Anniversary series) was, on the whole pretty good, save for the fact the police arrives at the scene almost halfway through the story. Or whatever the episode is actually called.

It's a pity the intensity from the manga was not carried over to the anime adaptation, but I'll keep that in mind when it comes up in the queue. For some reason the anime producers wanted Miyuki to be with Kindaichi, which was not the case in the manga. As such, things felt alot more intense for Kindaichi in the original manga story.
