What detail! The gift box and attached message was the icing on the cake. ;)

@Patrick

I think you'll appreciate the unapologetically fun, but twisted, attitude of this movie.TomCathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03415176301265218101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5516189026477178777.post-38509181046346076822011-08-10T00:01:20.056+02:002011-08-10T00:01:20.056+02:00It is one of my favourite films. The decapitation of Arthur Lowe would be sick inducing in a lesser film, but here it is played out as a parody of some romantic medical show (complete with faux DR KILDARE type music).

Price was sometimes all of the show in his weaker films, but here you feel that he is happy having to raise his game in order to keep up with such a cast. He gives it everything that he's got, and that's a hell of a lot. At the end of the film he speaks lines from KING LEAR and you suddenly feel sad that no-one had the brains to cast him in the role for real. Amidst all of the fun his pain suddenly feels devastatingly real. What an actor!Sextonblakenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5516189026477178777.post-48517795439772124572011-08-09T22:16:23.022+02:002011-08-09T22:16:23.022+02:00Ah, Vincent Price...
