The solution is...Yes, i agree with the kanji story. The solution is somewhat interesting, but really stretches the credibility when it happened twice. Fortunately the next volume is much better.<br /><br />By the way, a little unrelated, but have you read 'The Borrowed' by Chan Ho-Kei? Ho-ling recommended the book a few years ago and I have just finished it. I have to say it exceeded my expectations. Even though the stories can be seen as Hong-Kong police drama, I think the puzzle element is really strong. The authors name appeared quite often on Japan's mystery ranking, especially his recent title 'The Diogenes Variations'. Only two books of his have been translated into English, but I have not seen any review of the book in the community apart from Ho-ling.
