There are two options: working my way through vol. 20 and then begin with the first two volumes of C.M.B.. After which I alternate between the series until reaching reaching one of the crossover stories and skip ahead in the other series to do the double review. Or simply try to time them together. In that case it might be smarter to continue with Q.E.D. until reaching vol. 27 and then begin with C.M.B.. Both Touma and Shinra (main character in CMB) had different unrelated cases to solve, but they meet for a moment in those volumes to exchange some clues.

However, the cross over in CMB vol 19 and QED vol 41 is more significant, as those stories are basically two different perspectives of a much larger case. So the plan, as of now, is to read/review up to vol. 20 before sampling C.M.B.. History is more in my wheelhouse and curious to see how they compare to the mathematical stories that litter Q.E.D.

Are the crossover stories from C.M.B. vol. 6 and Q.E.D. vol. 28 linked or separate, standalone crossovers? Yeah, both stories o...Thanks for the twofer review. Yeah, both stories of volume 15 are also memorable for me. I like the way 'math' is integrated in the stories. Katou tends to use it in character-focused story. There it is used more as a theme, and it is not necessary to fully understand the numbers. My personal favorite of this kind of story is 'Elephant' in volume 29.

Also looking forward to the C.M.B. review. I think you will like it, a lot of the stories had 'history' as a theme. Volume 3,4, and 6 of C.M.B are quite different from others, as they are one full-length stories similar to Q.E.D. volume 10.

In addition, there are some cross-overs between the characters in Q.E.D. and C.M.B, so they are best read in tandem. Here are the lists that I am aware of:
- C.M.B. vol. 6 and Q.E.D. vol. 28 (minor cross-overs)
- C.M.B. vol. 19 and Q.E.D. vol. 41 (bigger cross-over)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
