You...Just write your honest opinion of the book. You're not alone in your dislike/disappointment of Calamity Town. It has some admirers, but they tend to be readers with greater tolerance for contemporary (post-modernist) crime fiction. What I'm trying to say is that not that many people will probably be surprised that you disliked it. I've just finished reading CALAMITY TOWN. I think it should have been called CALAMITY NOVEL - it's a disaster. I'm trying to write a review of it without coming across as being unduly negative but it isn't easy.dfordoomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02306293859869179118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5516189026477178777.post-88104028461240089572012-11-09T13:21:28.416+01:002012-11-09T13:21:28.416+01:00It's obvious when you think about it, huh? ;)It's obvious when you think about it, huh? ;) TomCathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03415176301265218101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5516189026477178777.post-36899634789177428942012-11-09T13:05:00.534+01:002012-11-09T13:05:00.534+01:00One of the very few EQ novels I've not read TC...One of the very few EQ novels I've not read TC but glad you liked it so much as this is one fo the two from the 50s singled out by Francis Nevins (the other is the equally Ellery-less THE GLASS VILLAGE). Do you really think he wrote too few short stories? There are about 100 or so aren't there? Actually, ome to think of it, you're right - that's not nearly enough Ellery Queen short stories!Sergio (Tipping My Fedora)http://bloodymurder.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.com
